My snare drum 4-Stroke Types Chart was born out of a professional development session that I had with band directors. Many directors loved the idea of teaching the 4-stroke types so their students could better understand how to control their sticks when playing accents and rudiments in their music. However, they didn’t have a way of showing this concept to their students. This visual aid can be enlarged and used as a poster for a reminder to percussionists to control their strokes to make sounds that blend with the ensemble.
